About the Embassy of Vietnam in Copenhagen, Denmark

Denmark is one of the first European countries whom Vietnam established diplomatic relationship with. The Embassy of Vietnam in Denmark opened in 2000 – 29 years after that milestone. Currently, diplomat group in the Embassy consists of 4 people: Ambassador (Mr. Pham Thanh Dung) and 3 staff (including 1 Counsellor and 2 Secretaries).

The Embassy’s functions

The Embassy of Vietnam roles are supporting Vietnamese citizens in Denmark, promoting Vietnam values and images in Denmark and contributing to the development and cooperation between the two governments. 

Additionally, it also has the right to proceed a number of counselor procedures:

– For Vietnamese: passport issuance/ renewal/ re-issuance/ amendment, birth/ death/ marriage registration, adoption registration, guardianship registration, civil status adjustment/ change/ addition, citizenship return/ reunification, etc.

– For foreigners: entry visa issuance for residents (both locals and immigrants) in Denmark. Please be noted that citizens of Denmark and even its neighboring countries Norway and Sweden are allowed to visit Vietnam without visa upon 15 days. If Danish, Swedish and Norwegian passport holders desire to stay more than 15 days, they need to apply for visas.

Working time

The Embassy is open from Monday to Friday (excluding Vietnam and Denmark public holidays). 

Working hours are from 9:0​0 a.m to 17:00 p.m and lunch break lasts 1 hour (from 13:00 p.m – 14.00 p.m).

Consular section works only in the morning (from 09.30 a.m to 12.30 p.m).
